POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Media Consulting will be an experienced consultant conversant in or an experienced media sales executive with a deep working knowledge of the advertising sales process and be able to dialogue with senior executives at both leading and emerging media brands. The DMC will have the ability to learn how to articulate the findings of the research we conduct in a way that helps clients use these insights to shape their product, sales and marketing strategies. Responsible for increasing sales of research-based products and services designed to deliver that insight, the DMC will work with new and existing media clients (sellers of advertising) in the NY area. This position is based in NY and reports to the Chief Strategy Officer who is also based in New York.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create sales opportunities with leading TV, digital, mobile, print, and programmatic media brands via a consultative sales approach with senior sales, marketing and research executives
  • Lead consultative engagements that result in the sales of our product and service programs
  • Lead strategic sales process by creating and navigating client relationships that harnessing effectively Advertiser Perceptions resources (people, ideas, tools, intellectual assets) as needed
  • Accurate sales forecasting
  • Work closely with other functional areas to execute sales programs, drive marketing programs, develop new products/packages and forecast the company’s financials.
  • Represent Advertiser Perceptions as one of the company’s external evangelists at industry events, conferences, etc.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 -7+ years of successful sales experience in the media space
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • Ability to land meetings and close business at high-levels (C-Levels and VPs)
  • Executive level contacts at key media companies (i.e. sellers of advertising)
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Ability to think and plan strategically
  • Demonstrated knowledge of media, practices and procedures…advertising technology a plus
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Intelligence, positive attitude, enthusiasm, high energy, teamwork, sense of humor
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability/willingness to travel
  • BA/BS degree
  • Competence in use of Salesforce, Linked-In, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

POSITION SUMMARY

Advertiser Perceptions seeks an Account Executive for the Media Consulting team based in New York City. Primary responsibilities include working with the consulting team to increase sales of syndicated and custom research through prospecting, account management, proposal creation, sales presentation development, and closing sales opportunities.

Working in conjunction with our Media Consultants, the Account Executive (AE) is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts, as well as communicate client needs within the organization to ensure quality in what is delivered to clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support client and media consulting:  scheduling meetings, creating sales materials including presentations and proposals, following up on requests

  • New account prospecting and sales (including cold calling)
  • Focus on client service and satisfaction
  • Maintaining client database and activity in Salesforce

REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of the advertising business and how ad decisions are made.
  • Knowledge of both traditional and digital media.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of sales or sales support experience
  • Ability to multi task, take initiative, and is detail oriented,
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Applications, Google Calendar, SalesForce, etc.)
  • Motivated, self starter, goal oriented, works well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills — public speaking a plus
  • College degree required.
